Race car team owner Michael Andretti’s wife has given birth to twins.

Jodi Andretti gave birth to son Mario and daughter Miati “Mia” in Indianapolis on Thursday morning. The twins are the first children for the couple.

His youngest son is obviously named after grandfather, Mario Andretti, who ranks second on the open-wheel all-time wins list with 52 victories. Mario Andretti won the 1969 Indianapolis 500.

Franchitti Has Surgery, Will Remain Hospitalized As Well-Wishes Pour In

Following the events of the last lap of the Grand Prix of Houston IZOD Series race on Sunday, Target driver was admitted awake and alert to Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center in Houston for a concussion, two spinal fractures and a fracture to his right ankle.  Last night Dario had surgery to temporarily stabilize the ankle.

He will remain in Houston for a few days, at which time he will be transported to Indianapolis for further evaluation.
