The heat is definitely on as Yamaha Factory Racing head overseas for the Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix, the first of the triple back-to-back races that mark the final push to the end of the season. Just four races remain for defending world champion Jorge Lorenzo to try to retain his crown from current championship leader Marc Marquez.

The Sepang circuit is up first this Sunday. Lorenzo has yet to score a premier class victory at the track, coming second in 2012 and third in 2010. The Mallorcan does have one 250cc win under his belt from 2006.

Yamaha Factory Racing’s is Marquez’s closest challenger and will be giving his all to try and haul back points on the Honda rookie, who last time out in Aragón made the headlines for not only his latest win. His contact with teammate Dani Pedrosa, which led to the rear wheel sensor of the latter failing – resulting in a big highside – will be discussed by Race Direction this Thursday.

World champion Jorge Lorenzo has forced his rivals to adopt a high-risk race strategy in a bid to end his winning streak in Sunday’s Aragon Grand Prix.

Both and rookie title contender know they must contain Lorenzo within two laps of the start or risk getting beaten.

Lorenzo has nothing to lose and knows that without a string of race wins he cannot shut down the 34 point advantage held by Marquez.
