‘Marquez Mania’ hit the Brickyard on Friday as Repsol Honda’s only furthered the argument that he’s already the class of the field with another breathtaking performance.

Just 20 years of age, the Spanish class rookie swept both Friday free practices to kick off the Red Bull Indianapolis GP weekend in style.

Marquez’s rivals hoped to return from the summer break ready to meet his growing challenge. However, no one could match the Friday pace of the sport’s newest sensation, who opens the season’s second half leading the points and carrying consecutive victories into Indy.

We had a busy first week and then we obviously released that I’ll be riding for Ducati next year. Really pleased and it was nice to get that done, we can settle for the rest of the year now and see how that goes. Yes there are pros and cons for everything. The most difficult thing was making the phone call to Herve. It was quite an emotional phone call. It was a difficult decision to make but I am pleased to secure my future.”
