Both the Brazilian’s manager Nicolas Todt, and Lotus team boss Eric Boullier, have revealed 32-year-old Massa is in the running for what Todt describes as “the best seat” left on the 2014 grid.

Vettel locked his tires on the first turn as the Ferrari of pressured him from behind, but after that the German consolidated his advantage to beat Alonso and Red Bull teammate , who finished third.

With seven races remaining, it looks increasingly likely that Vettel will clinch a fourth straight title — unless he has an alarming drop in form or Ferrari finds a way to get faster.

Infield Road Course Test A Success For IndyCar

Wednesday’s test on the infield road course at appears to have been a success on all fronts.

Testing multiple configurations throughout the day, IndyCar and speedway officials were looking to learn more in advance of a possible $100 million upgrade to the facility, as well as an additional IndyCar race on the course to kick off the month of May.

When all was said and done, it seems everyone walked away from the test optimistic that not only could IndyCar pull off a race on the infield road course, but it would create exciting racing.

IndyCar Set To Test Indianapolis Road Course On Wednesday

For only the second time in the storied history of , an IndyCar will hit the infield road course as part of an open test.

The infield road course has played host to Moto GP, , and NASCAR events, but never an IndyCar Series race.

On Wednesday, and are scheduled to run multiple configurations of the infield road course to “gather information about the current course layouts” as the speedway looks at a nearly $100 million upgrade to the facility with the possibility of future races in mind.

“As we look to the future of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the goal is to make changes to the road course that provide the most flexibility for its potential use and create a layout that is entertaining for our fans and enjoyable for our drivers – whether it is for INDYCAR testing or racing, , or other uses,” said J. Douglas Boles, Indianapolis Motor Speedway president.

The Italian team is openly considering replacing the Brazilian, who joined Ferrari as Michael Schumacher’s teammate in 2006, at the end of the season.
