Felipe Massa and have been checked and released from a hospital in Montreal after the two were involved in a heavy crash at the end of Sunday’s Canadian Grand Prix.

While battling for fourth place, Massa clipped the right-rear wheel of Perez’s Force India which caused both drivers to veer off track. They were carrying a high rate of speed at the time of the collision and were unable to slow before slamming viciously into the barriers in Turn 1.

Massa and Perez walked away from the incident under their own power and were eventually taken to a local hospital for precautionary checks, but have since been discharged.

The Safety Car was deployed, effectively ending the race and securing the win for Daniel Ricciardo. Nico Rosberg, who lost the lead with two laps to go, finished second just ahead of Sebastian Vettel.

Stewards will investigate the crash and talk to both drivers/teams to see if any further action is needed.
