, who won the 2004 Monaco Grand Prix in Formula 1, test drove the Spark-Renault SRT_01E at La Ferte Gaucher circuit near Choisy-le-Roi, France, earlier this month.

The 39-year-old Italian is a member of the Drivers’ Club, and hopes to become one of the 20 drivers who will compete in the series’ inaugural season starting in September 2014.

“From inside the cockpit it feels like driving a proper Formula One car,” says Trulli. “The sound is different but you still hear the sound of the electrical engine and gearbox, so in terms of feeling it’s perfect for a racing driver. Maybe from the outside it seems different but inside you don’t notice it.”
