Jarno Trulli, who won the 2004 Monaco Grand Prix in Formula 1, test drove the Spark-Renault SRT_01E at La Ferte Gaucher circuit near Choisy-le-Roi, France, earlier this month.
The 39-year-old Italian is a member of the Formula E Drivers’ Club, and hopes to become one of the 20 drivers who will compete in the series’ inaugural season starting in September 2014.
“From inside the cockpit it feels like driving a proper Formula One car,” says Trulli. “The sound is different but you still hear the sound of the electrical engine and gearbox, so in terms of feeling it’s perfect for a racing driver. Maybe from the outside it seems different but inside you don’t notice it.”
Fox Sports will have exclusive coverage of the Formula E series, starting with the first ever race on the streets of Beijing on September 13, 2014. Click HERE to find out more about the sport.Formula E, Jarno Trulli
