Daniel Ricciardo impressed once again with a superb third place in Monaco, on a day when teammate Sebastian Vettel was an early retirement.

The Australian caught in the closing laps, and chased him across the line. He’s now finished fourth, fourth, third and third in the past four races.

Jules Bianchi earned the Marussia team its first-ever points with a superb ninth place in the – in the team’s fifth season.

Bianchi actually finished eighth on the road, but he had a five second penalty added to his race time, which dropped him behind Romain Grosjean.

Nico Rosberg won the Monaco Grand Prix from pole position on Sunday to take the overall championship lead from his teammate , who came second to give Mercedes a fifth straight 1-2 finish.

The German driver clinched his second victory of the season and fifth of his career, making a strong start and holding off Hamilton to repeat his maiden GP win from pole here in Monaco last year.

“The pressure was on all the way but I kept it cool and was able to win,” said Rosberg, who celebrated by hugging his team engineers.

Daniel Ricciardo will start the from third position after beating teammate Sebastian Vettel again – and yet the Red Bull driver insisted that he was disappointed by his performance.

Third also gives him at least some chance of beating into Ste Devote, from the more favorable side of the track.

F1: No Further Action Taken Against Rosberg After Qualifying Incident

Nico Rosberg will keep his pole position after the stewards decided to take no further action against the German after his incident at Mirabeau.

The stewards decided that “no offence was committed by the driver of car No. 6,” and by way of explanation said that they had examined video and telemetry, and could find no evidence of any offence.

While the Mercedes team can breathe a sigh of a relief, there is no question that the affair has ramped up tension between Rosberg and , which could translate to an interesting start tomorrow.
