Ferrari will launch its 2014 car on the afternoon of Saturday Jan. 25, the day after McLaren unveils its new machine online.

Ferrari has taken the unusual step of asking the public to name the car, with an online poll between five different options. The names reflect either the year of 2014, or the 1.6-litre V6 engine configuration.

The choices are 4 T, 4 Maranello, 4 Scuderia, 66 Turbo and F616.

Some – even president – believe pitting former undisputed ‘number 1′ against the team’s 2007 World Champion is a bold risk.

“But I have been here since the early 70s,” the Italian said recently, “and I know that risk is something you have to live with in .”

Ecclestone, Formula 1′s chief executive, usually likes to see the sport’s top drivers spread across the most competitive teams.

But he thinks Alonso versus Raikkonen at Ferrari, Formula 1′s most famous team, will be “fun”.

Organized by the Polish news agency PAP, 21 European outlets cast their votes and the Red Bull driver emerged with more points than tennis’ Rafael Nadal and British athlete Mo Farah.

Vettel’s latest victory is despite widespread claims that the German is only dominating because of Adrian Newey’s design genius.
