Sebastian Vettel climbed out of his Red Bull car, pumped his right first then held up eight fingers, one for each of his consecutive victories.

Formula One’s German dominator just keeps on winning.

The four-time world champion won the U.S. Grand Prix in easy fashion Sunday, setting an F1 season record with his eighth straight victory behind another blistering drive that gave the field no chance to catch him.

Mark Webber just missed out on landing his third pole in four races when he was pipped by teammate .

Webber was quicker after the first runs, and while he improved on his second, a tiny mistake towards the end of the lap made the difference.

“Obviously there are two shots, we both had two sets of options,” said Webber. “The first part of the lap was very good, I was happy with that. Didn’t quite get 19 and 20 as I wanted. If I just repeated what I did initially in Q3 probably it was going to be enough but tried to squeeze a bit more out.
