This is how a DeltaWing road car may look within the not-too-distant future, DeltaWing Technologies Inc. revealed Wednesday.

The futuristic-looking automobile is a very real machine in the sports car racing world, currently competing in the TUDOR United Sports Car Championship series.

American team Krohn Racing awarded late entry for Le Mans

The game of musical chairs for the rapidly approaching 24 Hours of Le Mans continues, as the Automobile Club de l’Ouest confirmed Tuesday the withdrawal of Strakka Racing from next month’s twice-around-the-clock endurance classic.

Replacing the British squad’s Strakka-Dome S103 Nissan on the 56-car entry list, in a surprise twist, is Krohn Racing, which has been invited back to participate with its Ferrari F458 Italia in GTE-Am.

Worldwide, Volkswagen Golf is by far the biggest selling car in Europe and gaining fast in Asian and South American markets. In the U.S., not so much. Here, most drivers hold a grudging dislike for compact hatchbacks, equating them with the late and unlamented econoboxes of past decades.

Which explains why the U.S. launch of the impressive new seventh-generation Golf and performance GTI models comes a full year later than their introduction overseas, where they have succeeded in boosting sales amid critical acclaim. The U.S. intro is important to VW, though, because it wants to raise the profile of what the automaker calls “the heart of the brand.”

A collection of more than 200 historic hidden from public view for 61 years will be crossing the auction block in Oklahoma next month.

The cars belonged to Oliver Jordan, who ran a salvage business in the city of Enid from 1945 to 1953, when he locked it up during a zoning dispute that lasted for years.
