Like loud pipes? Better get them while you can.

Harley-Davidson revealed its first electric motorcycle on Thursday called Project LiveWire.

It’s the most radical departure in the 111-year history of the brand, best known for building rolling thunder on two wheels. A vision for a possible future production bike, Project LiveWire features more of a sporty touring look than the company’s classic cruisers.

Whenever a noted collector puts some of his on the block, it’s big news in the vintage-car community.

At the Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance in March, a number of high-end cars were sold out of the collection of the late Malcolm Pray, who died last summer. Tops on the list was a stunning Figoni et Falaschi-bodied 1937 Delahaye 135 Competition Court Torpedo Roadster known as “Malcolm’s French Mistress,” which sold for a jaw-dropping $6.6 million, fully 10 percent above the high estimate.

But now comes news that makes the Pray collection look like a mere drop in the bucket.

Video: Supercars get airborne during time trial contest

We’re sure the spectators were pleased with the person who decided to put a small bridge at the bottom of this course in the 2014 Cholmondeley Pageant of Power.

We’re not so sure about the ’ owners though, given that each of these seem to have caught some kind of air over the small bump en route to the finishing line.

Subaru BRZ newest entry to affordable, lightweight sports car class

(Photo: Tom Jensen)

For a company best known for its frumpy but utilitarian compact SUVs and sedans and its fast-and-furious rally car-based WRX and STI sedans, the BRZ is a revelation. (Photo: Tom Jensen)

The affordable sports car has long been one of the most revered classes of automobiles for enthusiasts.

Triumph and MG got the ball rolling in the 1950s and early ’60s, then the Nissan 240Z exploded on the scene just as the decade of the ’70s was set to take off. The Mazda Miata was a stunning success when it was introduced in 1990, and Honda followed suit in ’99 with the wonderful S2000 roadster.
