It’s a summer of celebration for Carlisle Events and the Carlisle Ford Nationals in 2014. The event runs June 6-8 at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds and hosts arguably the biggest summer celebration of them all — a nod to Ford, its 110-year history and the 50th anniversary of the iconic Ford Mustang. Though the fun runs the entire weekend at Carlisle, Friday June 6 at 5 p.m. will drop the event into fifth gear with a unique Mustang birthday party.

The celebration runs from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on and around the Red 102.3 stage. As every party should, this one has guests, music, special presentations, food, drinks, gifts, a guest of honor and cake…lots of it. As part of the fun, the party will feature a special 1964 ½ Mustang Convertible-themed cake designed by the Carlisle Bakery. This cake is being made with meticulous attention to detail and is so grandiose, it will feed a few hundred people. Additional event sponsors include Classic Design Concepts and Gateway Classic Mustang.

Also, special comments will be given by John Clor, Don Farr, Jerry Heasley, Steve Saleen, Lee Holman, Hubert Platt, Dave Dempster, Carlisle Events ownership, Carlisle Mayor Tim Scott and other representation from Ford, including engineers, regional managers and more.

Carlisle Events is also offering multiple door prizes, including showfield passes for the 2015 Carlisle Ford Nationals, 2015 Carlisle Performance & Style event and 2014 Carlisle Truck Nationals. There will also be 10 $500 gift certificates from event sponsor Gateway Classic Mustang. These certificates will be specifically for suspension components. Additional prizes include Carlisle Ford Nationals baseball caps.

Further, what would a party be without the guest of honor?  The grounds will host thousands of Mustangs, but one in particular will be showcased on the stage – the all-new 2015 Mustang. See a pre-production version of two ’15 Mustangs and learn firsthand via onsite walk arounds what they are all about directly from Ford.

Ford weekend also hosts a special 110 car/110 years of Ford Motor Company display in and around Building G just outside of Gate 1, plus the Mustang honors continue with a unique 50 year/50 car Mustang spotlight. There is also a Special Edition Mustang gathering, highlighting that were built specific for special events and special occasions.  included are a 1964 pre-production Mustang, 1972 Olympic Sprint, 1989 Carolina Special, multiple Indy Pace , 1993 Summer Feature, 2014 Hertz Penske GT and many more.

Finally, there is a downtown Ford parade on Saturday night, test drives at the neighboring Carlisle Expo Center and on site, there is a dedicated kids play area and non-automotive shopping options within the Women’s Oasis. Children 12 and under are always admitted free at Carlisle and an adult ticket is $12.  A weekend pass is $25 and covers all aspects of the weekend, from early bird day on Thursday to the final happenings on Sunday. It’s all at Carlisle starting Friday, June 6. Come for a day or stay for the entire weekend, but be sure to honor the Ford brand and the iconic Mustang during event weekend and grab a piece of cake along the way.
