This just might be the biggest year in the history of the Corvette, ’s halo car since its launch on June 30, 1953.

Not only is 2013 the 60th anniversary of the Corvette, but last week, Chevrolet began shipping to dealers its newest version of the two-seat sports car, the all-new 2014 Corvette Stingray. Also known as the C7, short for seventh-generation, the 2014 ‘Vette has received overwhelmingly positive reviews in the automotive press.

Vintage Corvettes, of course, have long been a staple of the Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auctions, and they will be again this week in Las Vegas, during the Sept. 26-28 event at Mandalay Bay, which will be televised on the FOX family of networks.

More than 35 Corvettes are listed on the Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas preliminary docket, spanning the gamut from 1954 to 2009. Among the Corvettes, there is everything from show-winning restorations with every nut and bolt correct, to wild customs where nothing was left unmodified.
