MotoGP: Marquez and Pedrosa complete Brno test – try out 2015 bike

Repsol Honda Team riders Marc Marquez and have come to the end of this week’s test session at Brno. Over the course of three days, the two Spaniards tested their 2014 bike as well as debuting the new 2015 machine.

On Thursday, both riders finished testing at lunch time, with Pedrosa racking up a further 16 laps on the 2014 bike. In the case of World Champion Marquez, he put in 41 laps on the current bike plus a further five on next year’s version.

Crashes Plague Brno Outing For Crutchlow, Smith

Confident he could battle for a fifth podium of 2013 after securing pole position for the second time in his career, Crutchlow was locked in an exciting battle with and Alvaro Bautista in the early laps.

However, the 27-year-old tumbled out of fourth position on lap eight. The Briton rejoined the 22-lap race fighting through from the back of the field to take 17th at the chequered flag.

Pedrosa Tops Morning Warm-Up As Rain Looms

Repsol Honda Team’s , winner in dramatic fashion last year, topped the Warm-Up with his best lap time of 1’56.515, which was just three thousandths of a second faster than championship-leading teammate . The top five was rounded out by Factory Racing duo and Jorge Lorenzo, plus pole-sitter of Monster Yamaha Tech3.

The talk of the morning was the ever-increasing chance that rain will affect this afternoon’s 22-lap race. Dark skies surrounded the circuit, encouraging riders to practice bike changes in the pit lane in case they are faced with a Flag-to-Flag situation during the Grand Prix; incidentally, the likes of Crutchlow and Marquez are yet to experience such a scenario since making their ™ debuts.

Rossi Upbeat On Brno Prospects Despite Tough Qualifying Outing

“This race is open for me because the Brno has a lot of places to overtake and I feel good with my race pace,” said Rossi who is chasing his second win of the season following his DutchTT victory.
