Cars: Childhelp ‘Drive The Dream’ Gala To Honor 1964 Le Mans Victory

The Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving, the only purpose-built driver training facility for performance enthusiasts, and ChildHelp, the nation’s largest organization for abused and neglected children, announced Wednesday that the 10th Annual ChildHelp Drive the Dream Gala will honor the 50th anniversary of the 1964 Shelby American Le Mans victory on Jan. 11 from 5:30-10:30 p.m. The celebration will include a panel discussion during the day with a special cocktail, dinner and display of the Ford-powered Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe with the Ferrari GTO that it narrowly beat at the Arizona Biltmore Resort in Phoenix, Ariz., that evening.

Cars: Barrett-Jackson To Auction Schumacher ’98 Ferrari F300 Race Car

While seven-time Formula One world champion Michael Schumacher remains in critical condition in a Grenoble, France, hospital, where he is being treated for a brain injury suffered while skiing, it was announced that one of his most famous race will go across the auction block later this month.

Ferrari chassis No. 183, a 1998 F300 Formula One race car, is part of the Salon Collection of high-end cars at the 43rd annual Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Collector-Car Auction. The FOX family of channels will have 36 hours of live television coverage from the event on Jan. 14-19.
