Cars: April Rose Becomes ‘Black Beauty’ For Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale

The 43rd annual Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Collector-Car Auction kicks off tonight, with 36 hours of live television coverage on the FOX family of channels.

And one of our on-air personalities has a new look for 2014 that might make you do a double take on this broadcast.

You may not recognize her at first but it’s our April Rose debuting a new paint job she calls “black beauty.” From blonde to brunette she can’t go wrong!

, short for hemispherical, refers to the legendary cylinder head configuration that and its various subsidiaries made famous, starting in the mid-1950s. The was the engine of choice for championship NHRA Top Fuel and Funny Car teams, as well as few very successful Pro Stock teams.

Away from the track, Hemis got stuffed into hot rods, rat rods, Jeeps and even boats. If you wanted to go fast, you wanted a Hemi under the hood.

The inaugural , a premium automotive event that starts up Arizona collector-car auction week, has chosen Packard and Maserati as its honored marques for the Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014, concours held at the historic Arizona Biltmore Resort and Hotel.
