The Carlisle Chrysler Nationals has been the premier all -themed event in the world since its inception in 1991. Fast forward to 2014 and this year’s event promises to once again be the cream of the crop within automotive circles. As the only July event on the Carlisle Events schedule this year, the weekend of July 11-13 hosts special guests, displays, seminars and the .

As has been the case for many years, the event unofficially launches on Thursday with a kick-off party and cruise in at Cumberland Valley Motors in nearby Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.  The free kick-off, presented by the Mopar Rebellion Car Club, draws upwards of 400+ cars and provides yet another great outlet for Mopar enthusiasts to congregate, talk shop and catch up on happenings since last year’s show.  With this serving as a popular appetizer, the main course Friday, Saturday and Sunday will ultimately leave enthusiasts wanting more by week’s end.

Carlisle Events To Host Special 50th Anniversary Mustang Celebration

It’s a summer of celebration for Carlisle Events and the Carlisle Ford Nationals in 2014. The event runs June 6-8 at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds and hosts arguably the biggest summer celebration of them all — a nod to Ford, its 110-year history and the 50th anniversary of the iconic Ford Mustang. Though the fun runs the entire weekend at Carlisle, Friday June 6 at 5 p.m. will drop the event into fifth gear with a unique Mustang birthday party.

Pinehurst Concours d’Elegance: 1931 Cadillac Takes Best In Show

A striking midnight blue 1931 Cadillac 452A owned by 90-year-old Charles Gillet of Lutherville, Md., was awarded the Best in Show at the 2014 Pinehurst Concours d’Elegance at Pinehurst Resort on Sunday.

The car, equipped with a V-16 engine and purchased in 1986 by Gillet and then restored by Pruiett Automotive Restoration, emerged from 119 vintage and a strong Class 4 Grand Classics (1925-1948) field to capture the top prize at the second annual showcase.

SportsCars: 2014 United SportsCar Championship TV Schedule Announced

The first year of a five-year partnership between the International Motor Sports Association () and FOX Sports brings a majority of events featuring live coverage on FOX Sports 1, as sanctioning body and network officials announced the television schedule for the remainder of the 2014 season.

“Teaming with IMSA and the new TUDOR United SportsCar Championship to solidify a strong 60-plus-hour television package is a great beginning to this long-term relationship,” said David Nathanson, general manager and chief operating officer of FOX Sports 1 and FOX Sports 2. “And being able to open the sports car racing season with a pair of iconic endurance races like the Rolex 24 at Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring gives us an amazing platform on which to build.”

Ricky Carmichael-Designed Course Among Biggest Tests Riders Face All Season

Supercross riders roll into this weekend for a turn on Ricky Carmichael’s 5,000-ton dirt and sand monster of a playground, and according to host Ralph Sheheen: “Some guys are chomping at the bit … and some guys are waking every morning in a cold sweat.”

Live coverage of Daytona Supercross by Honda begins Saturday, March 8 (7:30PM ET) on FOX Sports 1, with Sheheen joined in the booth by Hall-of-Fame rider Jeff Emig and five-time Daytona Supercross winner Carmichael, the designer of the 40-jump Daytona circuit. Jenny Taft reports from the pits.
