Godzilla is getting soft.

Not the movie monster — although its latest iteration has been criticized for putting on a little weight — but the Nissan GT-R, which has been likened to the famous daikaiju thanks to its nuclear levels of performance.

The numbers speak for themselves: Zero to 60 mph in under three seconds; a top speed of 196 mph; 545 horsepower courtesy of a hand-built 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V6 assembled in a clean room so high-tech that those fleeing scientists on the silver screen would kill to have one. If only they’d made it.

The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Convertible may look like it’s all about having fun in the sun, but it’s also an expert at crisis management.

Local Motors wants to change the way America makes things. In fact, it already has.

The Phoenix-based automotive and industrial design and manufacturing outfit was one of the pioneers of cloud-based co-creation, where members of a 150,000-member strong online community submit and refine ideas for products, dramatically speeding up the process.

Founded in 2007, its first project was the Rally Fighter, a high-speed off-roader built from a mix of original parts and off-the-shelf components that’s manufactured in small numbers at what Local Motors calls a microfactory. Each vehicle it produces is an updated version of the one before it.

Like loud pipes? Better get them while you can.

Harley-Davidson revealed its first electric motorcycle on Thursday called Project LiveWire.

It’s the most radical departure in the 111-year history of the brand, best known for building rolling thunder on two wheels. A vision for a possible future production bike, Project LiveWire features more of a sporty touring look than the company’s classic cruisers.

The cars belonged to Oliver Jordan, who ran a salvage business in the city of Enid from 1945 to 1953, when he locked it up during a zoning dispute that lasted for years.
