Dovizioso Hits 200 As Hayden Remains Realistic

Andrea Dovizioso will celebrate his 200th career Grand Prix start as MotoGP returns to MotorLand this weekend.

The 125 World Champion of 2004, Dovizioso would lose out twice to in the 250 ranks before making his premier class debut with JiR Team Scot MotoGP in 2008. His first and so far only win would come a year later, for Repsol Honda Team at Donington Park, although during his time in MotoGP the Italian has already ridden Honda, Yamaha and Ducati bikes. He now returns to Aragon: scene of his last podium finish, with Monster Yamaha Tech3 last season.

Electronics and software strategies were the main focus for Ducati Team as it conducted its single day of post-race Misano testing on Monday.

Nicky Hayden and were in action per usual, joined by Michele Pirro who was sharing his bike with Franco Battaini. Heavy overnight rain left wet patches on the circuit, resulting in Ducati reducing its running time to five hours between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. As well as electronics and software, Ducati also looked into larger brake discs with next month’s Japanese GP in mind.

Ducati Warning: No More Friendly Fire

management has moved quickly to diffuse tensions between factory riders and following their dramatic last corner collision in the Indianapolis Grand Prix.

In advance of this Sunday’s at Brno the Desmosedici teammates have been warned that Ducati does not want to see a repeat of the friendly fire.

The bump and grind on the final lap of last Sunday’s race at the Brickyard allowed Yamaha rider to sneak through into eighth place, dropping Hayden to ninth and Dovizioso 10th.

A similar incident occurred in the Dutch TT at in June.

Rossi, Hayden Pull Off Stunning Last Lap Passes

Fan favorites and weren’t able to pull off a win at Indianapolis, but their last lap passes had everyone off their seats.

Rossi was pitted against and for fourth, and managed to blow past both riders coming out of the final turn.

American rider Nicky Hayden banged bars with his teammate , pushed him wide and was able to get by him coming down the home straight. The contact allowed to sneak by for eighth position, with Hayden besting his teammate for ninth.
