Last weekend, it lived up to expectation with another dramatic night of competition that ultimately tightened up the championship battle in the premier class and produced the third first-time winner in as many weeks in the 250SX Class.

ROCZEN TAKES 450SX VICTORY OVER VILLOPOTO

Martin Davalos broke through to capture his first career Monster Energy 250SX Class victory in front of 69,785 fans at the Georgia Dome.

The Pro Circuit Kawasaki rider led all 15 laps Saturday night, grabbing the victory in his 64th career start ahead of teammate and GEICO Honda’s .

Fresh off back-to-back Monster Energy victories, Yoshimura Suzuki’s James Stewart enters Saturday night’s race at The Georgia Dome as the fastest qualifier in the 450SX Class.

Stewart topped both timed qualifying practices, with his fastest lap of 52.436 coming midway through the second and final session. He was more than two-tenths of a second quicker than JGRMX’s and fellow Suzuki rider Broc Tickle.

Dallas presented some of the most difficult track conditions of the season, but in the end cemented himself as the hottest rider in the championship by grabbing back-to-back victories and vaulting himself into the title hunt. The debut of the 250SX East Region produced yet another first time winner this season and gave a glimpse into what could become a dominant run for the most successful team in history.

SX: Georgia Dome Awaits James Stewart — Atlanta Race Preview

With seven races in the books for the 2014 Monster Energy AMA season, James Stewart became the first back-to-back winner, and as the championship heads to , the Yoshimura Suzuki rider hopes to have a repeat performance of last year, where he captured the Main Event win. Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s , who is a rookie in the Eastern Regional 250SX Class, wrote the perfect story to what appears to be an incredible career, by winning the first race of his career.

Last year, Stewart took home his first 450SX Class win of the season at the 2013 Atlanta stop. GEICO Honda’s Wil Hahn led wire to wire in the night’s Eastern Regional 250SX Class race en route to the first victory of his career. Now that Hahn has moved to the premier class, he’s yet to finish inside the top five; he tied his career-best finish in Arlington with eighth place.
