Witten expecting Cowboys to win Super Bowl

Jason Witten expects the Cowboys to be the last team standing in New York for the Super Bowl in February.

Cowboys tight end Jason Witten isn't one to boast.

In fact, Witten's humble nature – along with his considerable charitable contributions – is one reason why he received the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award last season.

So it was probably more a matter of optimism and positive thinking when Witten made a rather bold prediction last Friday.

While being honored with Jason Witten Day in his hometown of Elizabethton, Tenn., Witten raised a few eyebrows at the end of his acceptance speech.

"This is a great kickoff to the 2013 NFL season," Witten said. "And when I'm standing in New York some early February day, holding up that Lombardi Trophy with snow coming down on my face, I'll thank each and every one of you here that allowed me to have Jason Witten Day."

You can bet that's a promise the citizens of Elizabethton, as well as Cowboys fans across the nation, will hold Witten to.
