Texas Tech lands nation's No. 4 QB, Jarrett Stidham

Kliff Kingsbury just landed himself a major recruit for the 2015 season.

Four-Star quarterback Jarrett Stidham from Stephenville, Texas has committed to the Texas Tech Red Raiders.

Kliff Kingsbury lost two quarterbacks to transfers this offseason, but grabbed a big commitment for the future on Friday.

Jarrett Stidham, the nation's No. 4 quarterback and a four-star prospect, committed to the Red Raiders on Friday.

Stidham won't be able to sign until next February, but he would be the highest-rated prospect to sign with Texas Tech since Kingsbury's arrival in Dec. 2012. He would arguably be the highest-rated signee in Texas Tech history.

Stidham had offers from numerous programs including Texas, Texas A&M, Alabama, Baylor, Auburn and Ohio State.

The Stephenville, Texas native is 6-foot-4, 190 pounds and played some receiver as a sophomore. Last season, he threw for 2,613 yards, 30 touchdowns and just 5 interceptions. He also rushed for 821 yards and 14 touchdowns.

Texas Tech signed Whitehouse, Texas native Patrick Mahomes this February. After Baker Mayfield (Oklahoma) and Michael Brewer (Virginia Tech) transferred this offseason, Davis Webb is Texas Tech's only scholarship quarterback practicing with the team this spring.
