Te'o's girlfriend takes in Dallas Stars game

The Dallas Stars went out of their way to welcome Lennay Kekua to Saturday's home game.

The Dallas Stars have gone viral again.

A week after making national headlines for slamming the Dallas Cowboys on Twitter, the Stars opened their season Saturday night in Dallas against the Phoenix Coyotes.

And cameras for their in-arena show caught a special celebrity in the crowd.

During a break in the action during the 3rd period, a shot of an empty seat hit the jumbotron with a graphic welcoming Manti Te'o's girlfriend to the game.

The joke received a large laugh from the sellout crowd, and images of the shot quickly hit Twitter.  The team retweeted some of the shots on their official account.

The photo quickly went viral.  Local news stations reported the "sighting" during their newscasts and several national websites ran pieces on the prank Sunday.

The team looked impressive in their 4-3 win over the defending Pacific Division champions ... but no word yet if they looked impressive enough for Lennay Kekua to return to her seat on Thursday when the Stars return home to take on the Chicago Blackhawks.
