Romo didn't play in Sunday night's preseason opener but he did take a few minutes to answer questions from NBC sideline reporter Michele Tafoya during the fourth quarter.
The contract extension Romo signed in March was one of the first topics of discussion. When the words "spend more time at the facility" were mentioned as being part of the deal, Romo made a correction.
"I think that was wrong," Romo said. "He didn't want me to spend more time at the facility. I mean, I wear the facility out. He asked me if I wanted to spend more time in the coaches' meetings, something I've never been able to do before. I told him, 'Yeah.' I thought that was a positive for us as a football team. Just any time you can get in there and be involved, in that aspect, it's a good thing. I was on board with that. I thought it was a good thing, and it's been great so far."
Romo said he is "100 percent" when asked about his health. When asked to describe the cyst he had removed from his back, Romo laughed and responded: "I don't know. You'd have to ask a doctor."
In regards to what he has witnessed in Oxnard, Calif. during the first couple of weeks of camp, Romo said, "I'm really excited about the way that this training camp has gone. It's pretty good."
