Rangers Holland nabs part in ‘Dumb and Dumber’ sequel

Texas Rangers pitcher Derek Holland’s love for the movie “Dumb and Dumber” is no secret.

He showed up at a team event earlier this year in a tux from the movie and he and then teammate Justin Grimm sported “Dumb and Dumber” tuxedos during the team’s trip to New York to visit the MLB Fan Cave.

Now Holland’s getting rewarded for his efforts.

Holland has a brief part on the sequel to the Jim Carrey-Jeff Daniels film “Dumb and Dumber To”, which is slated to be released next year.

Holland said on 105.3 The Fan Tuesday that he was invited by the Farrelly Brothers to the set and ended up with a part in the first scene of the movie.

“I was just going out there just to have fun and the next thing I know they’re like ‘We’re going to put you in the movie and you’re going to be in the opening scene,'” Holland said on the “Ben & Skin Show”.

Holland said he didn’t have any lines in the movie and just had to act like himself.

“It’s very noticeable,” he said. “You’ll definitely notice it’s me. It’s very funny.”
