Texas Rangers General Manager Jon Daniels will be featured in the next episode of FOX Sports Southwest’s popular IN MY OWN WORDS series set to premiere on Sunday, July 29 at 5:00 p.m. CT.
The 30-minute interview-style show goes up close and personal with Daniels as he discusses his fast-rising career, explains how he juggles his family life with his baseball life, and reviews the personnel moves made under his leadership that have turned the Rangers into a perennial playoff contender.
Those are among the many topics covered in a wide-ranging interview with Brad Townsend of the Dallas Morning News.
Daniels talks about becoming the youngest general manager in Major League Baseball history in 2005 when the Rangers hired the then 28-year-old to take over for John Hart, beginning a meteoric rise in the Rangers organization that has led to back-to-back World Series appearances.
He shares stories of how he manages to balance his family life as a husband and father of three young children with his professional life and a cell phone that logs between 150-200 text messages and emails a day.
IN MY OWN WORDS features well-known local sports personalities sharing memories and personal stories of their careers told in a conversation format. Each episode is a first person, personal journey in the subject’s own words telling the story of their life in the public eye. Video, photos and newspaper headlines highlight the conversation.
The IN MY OWN WORDS Jon Daniels episode is part of FOX Sports Southwest’s new partnership with the Dallas Mornings, which includes co-producing a print feature story with a television special.
