ARLINGTON, Texas –
Ian Kinsler grimaced in the ninth inning Tuesday night while scoring a run for the
Texas Rangers in the 5-4 loss to Pittsburgh.
The reason for the grimace is a mystery though.
The good news for the Rangers is that Kinsler was back in the starting lineup Wednesday at designated hitter. Manager Ron Washington wouldn't say what's ailing Kinsler but did say that Kinsler needed to be the DH Wednesday.
Washington said that, plus the off day Thursday, should be enough rest to have him back at second base for Friday's series opener against Oakland.
As for what's bugging Kinsler?
"Everyone has problems this time of year and it's something I have to maintain and make sure it doesn't get worse than it is," Kinsler said. "It's a thing. I'm fine."
