After three days of tests and evaluations, doctors in Boston have diagnosed New Orleans Pelicans forward Ryan Anderson with a herniated disc.
The 6-foot, 10-inch sharp shooter is out indefinitely, and team medical staff will have to re-evaluate how Anderson's disc is healing at a later time before knowing if he will need surgery.
Anderson's teammates had to leave him in Boston and continue on their road trip to Indiana and Miami, but they've kept up with him through phone calls and Facetime.
"He's in good spirits. He's such a positive person," center Jason Smith said. "We're all thinking about him non-stop and praying for him. We're asking everyone else to pray for him, too."
Tuesday afternoon, Anderson expressed his gratitude for all of the support and tweeted this photo of himself leaving the hospital in Boston.
