The Sooners' athletic department self-reported a violation of three student-athletes consuming too many carbs at a banquet last May. The athletes involved were required to donate $3.83 for the excess pasta to the charity of their choice.
Ikard wasn't shy about admitting he was one of the three when the news broke on Wednesday.
We were served an extra pasta buffet at our student-athlete graduation banquet in May. So, we donated $5 to charity to be eligible to play.— Gabe Ikard (@GabeIkard) February 19, 2014
Loving pasta is OK at the Olive Garden, and the restaurant was happy to help when it heard about Ikard's situation.
@olivegarden That seems like a good deal to me. I'll take it.— Gabe Ikard (@GabeIkard) February 20, 2014
@olivegarden Also, the never ending pasta bowl is amazing. Thanks.— Gabe Ikard (@GabeIkard) February 20, 2014
