Oklahoma quarterback Kendal Thompson arrested

Oklahoma quarterback Kendal Thompson was arrested early Friday morning for alleged public intoxication and interference with official process.

According to the arrest affidavit, Norman police were responding to a complaint about a loud party when they came across Thompson lying on a hill and snoring.

University officials issued a statement that said they are “handling it internally.”

According to the affidavit, Thompson did not obey officers’ commands to remain seated and continued to disobey commands once he was taken to the ground.

Thompson redshirted in 2011 and was a reserve last season behind Landry Jones and Blake Bell.

He is in a three-way battle for the starting quarterback job with Bell and Trevor Knight. Thompson completed 8 of 15 passes for 86 yards and a touchdown in the Sooners’ spring game on April 13.
