Leach made phone call to Big 12 commish during '07 game?

Graham Harrell was one of the many gunslingers for the Red Raiders during the Leach era.
During Harrell's visit to Lubbock, Texas last weekend, he shared several stories with Aaron Dickens of RedRaiderSports.com about Leach's quirky antics.
"Leach did some crazy things in his career," Harrell said.
Harrell says one memorable thing Leach did out of the ordinary was during Tech's game against Texas in 2007.
"I can remember in the third quarter, he's pulling his cell phone out," Harrell said. "He always talked to me between series, so he's talking to me and he pulls his cell phone out and he called the Big 12 commissioner. He's like cussing out the Big 12 commissioner, telling him like, 'These refs are screwing us. You better watch my postgame press conference because I've got some stuff to say.'"
Former Big 12 commissioner Dan Beebe told FOXSportsSouthwest.com's David Ubben on Thursday that he never spoke with Leach during the game.
"That's just silly," he said. "I've never talked to a coach during a football game."
The Red Raiders lost a high-scoring shootout with the Longhorns in Austin that day, 59-43.
One play Leach was upset about during the third quarter was when wide receiver Michael Crabtree's one-handed grab was not called a catch.
Leach challenged the play, but the replay officials also ruled it incomplete.
Was this when Leach made the phone call?
Following the loss, Leach continued to complain about the officiating, calling it a "complete travesty" during postgame interviews.
"They took away an explosive [play] which was one of the greatest catches I've seen that Crabtree caught on the sideline," Leach said.
His comments cost him $10,000, which was the largest fine by the Big 12.
Leach is now the head coach at Washington State, but his personality will never change.
Don't be surprised if you see him pulling out his cell phone again on the sideline.
