Kevin Durant meets with victims of tornado disaster

Donating $1 million just wasn't enough for Kevin Durant as he tours the tornado-ravaged OKC suburb.

Donating $1 million out of his own pocket just wasn't enough for Kevin Durant.

While most wealthy athletes would just sign the dotted line and carry on with their usual daily routines, the Thunder star takes a step beyond -- traveling to tornado-ravaged Oklahoma to visit with victims and rescue crews first hand.

Photos provided by Darnell Mayberry of The Oklahoman, show Durant touring a neighborhood that took a direct hit in the catastrophic tornado that tore through the Oklahoma City suburb of Moore on Monday afternoon.

Durant walked several blocks, meeting with fans, signing autographs and posing in photos with people trying to piece together what is left of their homes and prior lives.

While Durant can't replace what was lost in the devastation, his presence certainly helped boost the morale of an area that desperately needed something to smile about among the suffering.
