Hey, Mr. Tambourine Man: Nowitzki takes stage at country concert

As the Oklahoma City Thunder was in the process of evening their seven-game Western Conference finals series with the San Antonio Spurs at two games apiece, Mavericks superstar Dirk Nowitzki had other things on his mind.

As the Oklahoma City Thunder was in the process of evening their seven-game Western Conference finals series with the San Antonio Spurs at two games apiece, Mavericks superstar Dirk Nowitzki had other things on his mind.

The seven-footer spent his time attending The Avett Brothers concert Saturday night in Grand Prairie. And when you're Dirk Nowitzki, you get special privileges.

While the indie rock band played a song called "I Killed Sally's Lover", Nowitzki climbed up on stage, banged a tambourine and jumped around a little bit.

Nowitzki gets on stage around the two-minute mark.

Nowitzki took to Twitter after the show and let everyone know about his night.

"Had a blast at the avett bros concert.  Great show.  Great band," Nowitzki tweeted from his account, @Swish41.

"Rhythm is in my blood."

The Avett Brothers are best known for their hit "Head Full of Doubt/Road Full of Promise," which they performed live during the 53rd Grammy Awards in 2011.
