College football's coaches agree with the Big 12 media: Oklahoma is the Big 12's best team.
Oklahoma got three first-place votes, the most of any team besides No. 1 Florida State. Oklahoma State opens the season in Arlington, Texas against the top-ranked Seminoles and West Virginia will take on No. 2 Alabama in Atlanta.
Coaches are selected to vote on a rotation, and only half the coaches in college football vote each year. Oklahoma State's Mike Gundy, TCU's Gary Patterson, Baylor's Art Briles, Oklahoma's Bob Stoops and Texas' Charlie Strong will represent the Big 12 in this year's poll.
Texas A&M coach Kevin Sumlin is also a voter, along with Nebraska's Bo Pelini and Missouri's Gary Pinkel.
