Dwight Howard wants to play for Spurs?

Many cities have been thrown around as to where Dwight Howard might end up. San Antonio joins the list.

So far Dwight Howard has been linked to the Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets, and Dallas Mavericks.

But now the prized free agent is reportedly interested in joining the Spurs, Steve Kyler of HoopsWorld.com reports on Thursday.

Is this just a case of wanting to play for the best team, or does Howard actually see himself playing at the AT&T Center in San Antonio?

Howard is often viewed as a prima donna, so one has to wonder how well he would be able to work with Spurs coach Gregg Popovich.

If the 2012 NBA All-Star Game was any indication; it wouldn’t go well. Popovich was the coach of the Western squad that year and reportedly chastised Howard for not paying attention during a timeout.

That was only an All-Star Game, and surely if Howard was to pull some of the same antics in a playoff game, Popovich would probably do more than just call out the star center.
