There’s a good chance we’ll see Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook in the next Olympics.
Both of the Thunder All-Stars were chosen to be among the players in the initial pool which the 2014 World Championship Team and the 2016 Olympic team will be taken.
The two played on the team which won the 2012 summer Olympics, going 8-0 in England. The two also played in and won the 2010 FIBA World Championships in Turkey.
Durant was the team leader with 19.5 points per game during the 2012 Olympics and Westbrook averaged 13.5 minutes and 8.5 points.
Durant and Westbrook are two of the 28 players selected. The FIBA World Championships will be in Spain starting in August.
Westbrook has undergone three knee surgeries since May. He has not played since Christmas Day. Durant has scored 30 or more points in nine games in a row and helped the Thunder to a five-game winning streak.
