It's a girl!
Mavs superstar Dirk Nowitzki and his wife Jessica Olsson welcomed their new baby girl into the world Wednesday.
Neither of the first-time parents have spoken about the joyous occasion, but Dirk's father revealed the news in a German newspaper.
"I am proud to be a grandfather for the third time," Nowitzki's father, Jörg, said. Nowitzki's sister, Silke, has two children.
The name of the baby hasn't been released yet, though Mavs beat writer Bryan Gutierrez says that the baby's name is Malaika, meaning "Angel" or "Good Spirit." That bit of information hasn't been confirmed anywhere, but it's probably safe to assume the baby won't be called North West or George Alexander Louis.
Since people have asked, reports out of Germany say Dirk & Jessica have named their baby girl Malaika (which means "Angel" or "Good Spirit")
The Mavs have confirmed the report and former teammate Jason Terry sent his best wishes through Twitter.
