Cowboys sign Waters to one-year deal

Six days before the 2013 NFL season-opener, there is a different look as the Cowboys' pursuit of the free-agent guard is complete, with Waters being given a one-year deal that with incentives can earn him $3 million.
Waters – away from football for the past year – is expected be ready to play in Week 2. Worth noting: Two years ago, Waters returned to football with the Patriots in early September and started every game all the way to the Super Bowl.
Dallas released special-teamer Eric Frampton to make roster room for Waters.
Waters, 36, has been a summer-long Dallas discussion item along with ex- Jets guard Brandon Moore. Last month, both players declined invitations to join a club with injury woes at the position. Probable starting left guard Ron Leary is hoping to be back for Sunday. Incumbent starter Nate Livings (knee) is on IR. Mackenzy Bernadeau will likely open Sunday at right guard. And Brian Waters, a Waxahachie native who grew up a Dallas fan and after leaving the University of North Texas had a Dallas tryout, is moving to the Cowboys.
