IRVING, Texas — Rookie running back Joseph Randle has yet to take the field during a regular season game as a member of the Dallas Cowboys, but that should change this Sunday in San Diego.
Randle, the only player from the Cowboys’ 2013 rookie class not to see any playing time, said Friday that he will likely play on two special teams units.
The fifth-round pick out of Oklahoma State was active for the season opener but inactive the previous two weeks. Randle was limited during minicamp and organized team activities after having surgery on his right thumb.
On Friday, Randle said he finally feels like he’s caught up to where he needs to be.
“I didn’t know what to expect,” Randle said. “This is my first rookie year. I was just going to come out and work hard every day and make progress.”
Is he happy with the progress he’s made up to this point?
“Yeah,” Randle responded. “I’m suiting up this week, so I’m very happy with it.”
