The Big 12 has reprimanded and suspended the replay official and communicator for their handling of a controversial call in Saturday’s game between Kansas State and Iowa State.
The suspensions are one game after the official and communicator "failed to follow established procedures in a timely manner," Big 12 supervisor of football officials Walt Anderson said in a release.
Late in the first half, Kansas State receiver Tyler Lockett caught a pass near the front pylon in Iowa State’s end zone. The pass was called complete, but Kansas State was able to snap the ball before officials signaled to on-field personnel that the play required a review.
Once another play begins, previous plays are no longer available for review.
