Baylor bowl rings display 'corrected' score

Baylor won last year’s Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl over UCLA by the official score of 49-26.
But the bowl rings Baylor ordered are inscribed with “49-19” as the final score. One of the rings is pictured on the football program’s official Twitter account, @BUFootball.
There’s been no official comment from Baylor coach Art Briles or anyone at Baylor, but Bears fans with good memories know what this is all about.
At the end of the Holiday Bowl last December, UCLA lofted a desperation pass that was caught at the one-yard line as time expired. The UCLA receiver, Logan Sweet, appeared to be down as reached the ball across the goal line, but the officials awarded a touchdown anyway.
Briles tried to call a timeout to force a review of the play, but his shouts and pleas went unanswered. UCLA kicked the extra point and the game was done.
Months later, Briles did get the final say – at least as far as Baylor’s rings are concerned. It will surely make for some interesting discussions down the road if Baylor players happen to wear their rings around any UCLA players.
