Jerry Jones has been known to stick his foot in his mouth a time or two.
Heck, that’s even part of his charm.
But after the Cowboys’ narrow win over the Vikings Sunday, Jones left a few people scratching their heads.
“There are no 1-7 teams in this league,” he told the San Antonio Express-News. “That’s not the way it is with an NFL team. These guys play better than 1-7 when we play them.”
Well, see the problem is with the loss, the Vikings did actually fall to 1-7. So, technically, there is at least one 1-7 team in the NFL. As a matter of fact, there are also two 0-8 teams in the league (Jaguars and Buccaneers).
While we understand what he was trying say, that the Vikings are a lot better team than their record indicates, he probably could have chosen his words better.
