From Russia, with love. In 2011, NHL all-star Alex Ovechkin and tennis player Maria Kirilenko acknowledged via Twitter that the pair had found a love connection. The couple announced their engagement a year later. Though they say their busy schedules make it tough, she's currently ranked 24th on the women's singles tour, Ovechkin is captain of the Washington Capitals and they keep in touch by sending selfies. Aww… 21st century love.

Caroline Wozniacki and Rory McIlroy
In 2011, the sports world seemed to have a new ‘It’ couple when young stars Rory McIlroy and Caroline Wozniacki started dating. He was the exciting newbie taking the golf world by storm and she was the world’s No. 1 women’s tennis player. The pair had their ups-and-down (though how much of that was media rumors remains to be seen), but apparently both of them are in it for the long haul. McIlroy proposed to Wozniacki on New Year’s Eve of this year, and she said yes. On the flip side, both have struggled to stay at the top of their games since they’ve connected. Currently, Wozniacki is ranked 11th while McIlroy is trying shake off a subpar 2013 season.

Sanya Richards-Ross and Aaron Ross
Deep in the heart of Texas, love bloomed for football star Aaron Ross and track star Sanya Richards on the University of Texas at Austin campus. The couple was engaged in 2007 and married in 2010. Between the two, the couple has earned some pretty impressive hardware. Mia Hamm and Nomar Garciaparra
Soccer legend Mia Hamm and retired MLB slugger Nomar Garciaparra were married in 2003. Though they are both stars in their own right, Hamm being arguably the most celebrated women’s soccer player in history and Garciaparra earning two batting championships and six MLB All-Star nods, the couple has lived a relatively quiet life. Garciaparra has moved on to being an MLB analyst while Hamm works with her charity, the Mia Hamm Foundation. The couple has three children, twin girls born in 2007 and a boy born in 2012.
In 2001, two of the biggest names in tennis joined forces to create one super couple. Since then, Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf have been the first couple of tennis. The pair has two children together, a son born in 2001 and a daughter born in 2003. Agassi has said the couple isn't pressuring their kids to play tennis. With 30 Grand Slam singles titles between the pair, yeah, no pressure.

Danica Patrick and Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
Only a couple months after announcing her divorce, it was revealed Danica Patrick was now dating fellow driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr. Since, the couple hasn’t been able to escape the NASCAR gossip mill. While Patrick carries a lot of the weight in this relationship (more media attention), Stenhouse Jr. is no slack either, having won back-to-back Nationwide Series championships in 2011 and 2012. He also beat out Patrick for the 2013 Sprint Cup Rookie of the Year award.

Jeanie Buss and Phil Jackson
He is one of the most decorated coaches in NBA history, and she’s president of one of the most decorated teams in NBA history. Phil Jackson and Jeanie Buss definitely have some pull in the City of Angels. The couple began dating in 1999 and and got engaged during the 2012 holidays.
Now bear with us. Likeability is only a small fraction of what goes into power rankings. Since they made their official debut as a couple together via Facebook in March of 2013, they have been sitting pretty at the top of the sports world as king and queen. No matter where they go, Vonn and Woods command all the attention. While many may be annoyed or may not even like them as a couple or individually, it is hard to argue with two Olympic medals, two World Championships, 59 World Cup wins, 14 major championships, 79 PGA Tour wins and millions upon millions of prize and sponsorship money between the pair.
