Nkemdiche, who is from Loganville, Ga., implied in an interview with the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that he would look at other schools if Clemson, the school to which he had verbally committed, did not offer a scholarship to defensive back Ryan Carter.
"If Clemson doesn't offer Ryan, it would make me look at Ole Miss a little more, it would," Nkemdiche told the Journal-Conistitution. "It's very important that I have my boys with me."
Nkemdiche changed that perspective when he spoke to the New York Times.
"Of course I would want to play with him," Nkemdiche told the Times. "But if it doesn't work out, I'll still go to Clemson. ... I didn't give (Clemson head) coach (Dabo) Swinney an ultimatum about anything. I hope he doesn't feel obligated to offer anybody a scholarship because of my commitment. I don't want anybody to think I'm giving ultimatums, because that's not who I am.
