LONDON (AP) Cheikhou Kayoute netted a late goal on Saturday to earn his team a draw as West Ham and Norwich City battled to a 2-2 draw at the Boleyn ground.
The Senegalese midfielder drilled the ball home deep in injury time after a goalmouth scramble.
”I am happy that we showed the character at the end and we deserved it. A draw is a fair result and they are probably gutted because of the timing of the last goal,” West Ham manager Slaven Bilic said.

Norwich took the lead when a wayward pass across the face of goal from West Ham captain Mark Noble fell into the path of Robbie Brady who coolly slotted the ball into the net in the ninth minute.
Dimitri Payet’s low cross from the right managed to find West Ham striker Diafra Sakho who equalized for West Ham the 33rd minute.
Norwich City winger Nathan Redmond skipped past Noble in the 83rd minute and curled the ball in the far right corner before Kayoute’s late leveler.
It was a pulsating match that both sides could have won, with chances spurned by both teams and both goalkeepers – West Ham’s Adrian and Norwich City’ John Ruddy, in fine form.
Adrian was especially impressive, in the second half appearing to block a goal bound shot from Johnny Howson with his face.
”Whether the ball hit him in the head or whatever, I don’t know but that was an unbelievable save, he made a few good saves. He was great for us, but both goalkeepers were great tonight," Bilic added.
West Ham stay third in the Premier League with 13 points, but continue to struggle to win at home, having only beaten Newcastle this term and losing to Bournemouth and Leicester City.
The Irons have been far more impressive away from home with three away wins this season against title chasing Arsenal and Manchester City, as well as their first away win at Liverpool since 1963.
Norwich City manager Alex Neil was disappointed not to have won the game, but happy enough with his team’s performance. ”We came and played against a really good side, and we more than matched them," he said after the match.
The result leaves his team 13th in the league with 9 points after seven matches.
