You could be forgiven for not having thought about Xavi Hernandez for a long time. After all, he left Barcelona in 2015 for Qatar, and has largely been out of the spotlight because… he left Barcelona for Qatar.
At the tender age of 36, he's still playing for Al Sadd in the Qatari top league, though, and he still has some magic in those boots. Just one point off the top spot, his team took on Doha rivals Al Rayyan in the 'Qatari Clasico', and they emerged as comprehensive victors on the day, winning 5-0. One of those goals was this absolute pearler from Xavi, and from a free kick no less.
Xavi was never really known for his free-kick taking exploits in a Barcelona or Spain shirt, but it seems like an old dog really can learn new tricks. And it's a pretty d*ng good trick, too.
