Tim Cahill's debut A-League goal was absurd and beautiful and will leave you speechless

Tim Cahill didn’t waste any time opening his A-League account, scoring in his very first league game for Melbourne City since making the move back home. And holy kangaroo what a goal it was.

Woah.

That is a preposterous volley, from a good 35 yards out, right into the top corner. And then Cahill even busted out his trademark “punch out the corner flag” celebration that we all love to deploy on FIFA so much. Top marks all around.

Cahill is Australia’s all-time leading goalscorer and arguably its greatest player ever. He’s scored more World Cup goals than any other Australian and achieved legendary status Down Under while at Everton, where he scored 68 goals in eight seasons. But Cahill, now 36 years old, had never played in his home country’s domestic league before Saturday.

That is one heck of an entrance, if you ask me.
