Manchester City star Carlos Tevez has hailed Roberto Mancini for
getting the best out of him and hopes the Italian will remain at
Mancini is under intense pressure to achieve success at City after a massive outlay in the transfer market this summer. City missed out on qualifying for the Champions League last season, but they are expected to challenge for the title after adding to their star-studded squad this summer with the arrivals of David Silva, Jerome Boateng, Alexander Kolarov and Yaya Toure.
Relations between Tevez and Mancini last season were reported to be strained, but the Argentine has praised the former Inter Milan coach for getting the best out of him.
"I would really like him (Mancini) to continue here," said Tevez.
"I would like all of us to stay and continue with this ambitious project which we have started.
"The manager has given me the continuity that every player needs to produce his best. He helped me recover my confidence.
"Thanks to the coach and my team-mates, things have worked well for me and it’s the reason I have achieved such a high level.
"We are a team that is growing together. We are happy with what we’ve done so far but we know this season is our greatest challenge."
