Swans set to seal Soriano deal

The 25-year-old hit 32 goals for Barcelona B in the Segunda

Division in 2010/11 and could be available for a fee just under

£1million. Soriano is understood to be one of Swans boss

Brendan Rodgers’ top targets this summer as he prepares for Premier

League football. Now the Welsh club’s chairman Huw Jenkins is in

Spain to discuss terms and although he has not confirmed that

Soriano is the target, he did give a clue to the player’s identity.

“I will be meeting with the representative of a player that we feel

will be perfect for Swansea City,” Jenkins told the South Wales

Evening Post. “He has the talent that would fit in to the style in

which we believe in, and we are hopeful of him coming here.” “By

flying out to meet his representative, I hope we can agree a deal

within the next few days. We will talk about what we want to

achieve as a club, and what the player wishes to achieve too.” When

asked if Soriano was the player in question, Jenkins added: “I

think Brendan likes him, and I don’t think anything has happened

with him yet this summer.”
