Scolari hit by small radio thrown from the stands

World Cup-winning coach Luiz Felipe Scolari was hit in the head

by a small radio thrown from the stands after a Copa Sudamericana

match in Brazil.

Scolari was being interviewed by a television reporter when the

radio flew through the air and struck him in the back of the head.

He immediately put his hand to his head in apparent pain, then

turned around to the fans and angrily showed them a closed

fist.

Scolari says ”it will take more than a radio to bring me

down.”

The incident came after Scolari’s team Palmeiras defeated Goias

1-0 in the first leg of the Copa Sudamericana semifinals on

Wednesday.

The coach, who led Brazil to the 2002 World Cup title, was

involved in an altercation with Goias club directors over the

incident.
